Christian Youth Theater San Antonio–New Braunfels is seeking a Development Director to join our leadership team!
CYT San Antonio - New Braunfels is a faith-based nonprofit organization dedicated to developing character and creativity through quality theater arts training that brings families and communities together while reflecting Jesus.
The
Development Director (DD) is a vital, community-facing leadership role focused on fundraising, donor engagement, community partnerships, marketing, and the long-term financial sustainability of CYT San Antonio - New Braunfels.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about the mission of CYT and excited to build relationships throughout our community that will help our organization grow and serve more young people and families.
About the Position
The Development Director will work closely with the CYT Board of Directors, Artistic Director, Operations Director, staff, volunteers, families, donors, and community partners.
Key areas of responsibility include:
- Developing and implementing short- and long-term fundraising strategies
- Cultivating individual donors and major gifts
- Developing corporate sponsorships and community partnerships
- Researching, writing, and administering grants
- Planning and executing fundraising events and campaigns
- Developing relationships with local businesses, schools, churches, and community organizations
- Overseeing marketing, communications, social media, and public relations
- Helping tell the CYT story throughout the San Antonio - New Braunfels community
- Supporting strategies that increase donations, ticket sales, class participation, and overall program growth
Position Details
Reports to: CYT San Antonio - New Braunfels Board of Directors
Classification: Salaried position, renewed annually
Schedule: Hybrid, 40-hour work week with a minimum of 20 hours per week physically at the CYT SA-NB facility. Hours will vary according to class and production schedules.
Qualifications
Our ideal candidate:
- Understands and exemplifies the CYT Mission and Values
- Has strong networking and interpersonal skills
- Is an excellent written and verbal communicator
- Has experience or demonstrated ability in fundraising, donor cultivation, grant writing, corporate sponsorships, marketing, communications, or related areas
- Possesses strong project-management and financial-literacy skills
- Works well collaboratively with staff, volunteers, families, community partners, and a volunteer Board of Directors
- Has a strong desire to uphold CYT's mission of developing character in youth and reflecting its core artistic and personal values
A bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, Marketing, Communications, or a related field is preferred but not required. Two to five years of relevant nonprofit fundraising, donor cultivation, grant writing, and corporate sponsorship experience is preferred but not required.
