Mandatory Show Parent Meetings:
Regardless of your previous involvement in CYT, anyone interested in auditioning for
The Little Mermaid MUST be present for one of the below meetings:
Saturday, December 11th at 2pm
Saturday, December 11th at 4pm
Saturday, December 11th at 6pm
You only need to come to one of these meetings, and coming to a meeting doesn't commit you to participating. This is just to make sure that everyone has the necessary information about the process, expectations, and more. If you cannot make one of these meetings, but still want to participate, please email our Show Coordinator at shows@cytsanantonio.org.
If you do not have a family representative present for one of these meetings and you don't connect with our Show Coordinator to get the information, your child will not be able to audition for the show.
Auditions:
Students enrolled for the Winter Session of classes are eligible to sign up for an audition slot through their family account! Auditions will be on Friday, December 17th where students will bring their prepared material (see below). Saturday, December 18th, all students will be needed for
Dance Call from 10am-12:30pm. Callbacks will follow for students who are asked to stay to read and sing for specific characters.
Students will need to prepare:
A one minute cut of a song (this song should NOT be from The Little Mermaid. We suggest something Disney if this is your first time auditioning. Your track needs to be a karaoke track with no words)
A one minute monologue (the monologues from The Little Mermaid that you can use from CYT are
HERE , OR you can select your own monologue if you would like)

The rehearsal schedule is posted below.
Please note that the following days/times will be used in this show process:
Friday from 5:30-8:30pm, and Saturday from 10am-4pm. In order to have flexibility in case of sickness, we may utilize a few Tuesdays from 5:30-8:30pm but are not planning on using these days regularly for rehearsal.
Students are only allowed 14 hours of absences, and those MUST be communicated when completing show paperwork (coming soon via email).
Production Fees and Ticketing:
Production Fees for this show are
$200.
We will have block ticketing for this show since performances will be in-person. Block Ticketing means that families are responsible for selling 10 tickets at a discounted rate of $16 a piece to family and friends. This is done by using a personal box office link that can be shared. If families do not sell their 10 tickets by the time the show closes, the remaining dollar amount will be charged to the Family Account. More information will be coming with details!
