Step into the enchanted world of Broadway's modern classic, Disney's Beauty and the Beast. Based on the Academy Award-winning animated feature, the stage version includes all of the wonderful songs written by Alan Menken and the late Howard Ashman, along with new songs by Mr. Menken and Tim Rice.
The classic story tells of Belle, a young woman in a provincial town, and the Beast, who is really a young prince trapped under the spell of an enchantress. If the Beast can learn to love and be loved, the curse will end and he will be transformed into his former self. But time is running out. If the Beast does not learn his -lesson soon, he and his household will be doomed for all eternity.

Male; A figure haunted by past mistakes. Quick temper, prone to anger.
Angry at himself for what he did but takes it out on others. Despite this, he has an
inner beauty. Used to be a prince, therefore he is noble.
Male; Very egotistical and in love with himself. The town hero ‐ and knows it.
A hunter. Loves the attention he gets from the town, especially from girls.
Quite cruel and malicious – happy to manipulate people and use them to get what he wants.
Female; Intelligent. Loving. Kind and friendly. A dreamer who wants a life full of
adventure. Loves to read and has a vibrant imagination. Devoted to her father.
Male;– Odd, but a gentle and kind bumbling old man. Similar to Belle in that
he’s a dreamer and a bit of an outcast. Loves Belle more than anything in the
Male; Gaston’s dim‐witted devoted servant. Easily afraid but also very loyal to
Gaston. Has a cruel side to him too as he’s happy to encourage Gaston’s plans.
Male; Turns into a clock. Uptight and tries to be strict when he doesn’t
command enough authority. Tries to obey the Beast’s orders (out of fear) and likes to see himself as the experienced head of the household.
Male; Maître d turning into a candelabra. Fancies himself as a ladies’ man.
Longs desperately to be human once more. Very welcoming and hospitable.
Lovable, if a bit cheeky. Loyal to his master and good friends with Cogsworth.
Female; A kindly, motherly woman. Very reassuring and always looking out
for other people, mostly her child, Chip.
Female; Flirtatious and extremely confident. Her youthful energy keeps everyone around her entertained. Has feelings for Lumiere. Young and not particularly smart. Transitioning into a feather duster.
Madame De La Grande Bouche (Wardrobe)
Female; – Used to be a famous opera singer and still trying to hold on to that fame. Kindly nonetheless and harbors feelings for Cogsworth.
Young, sprightly and innocent. Very much believes in true love as the cure
to everything. Naïve yet feisty. A chipped tea‐cup.
Monsieur D' Arque
Male; Old, creepy and malevolent owner of the town’s mental asylum. Enjoys locking people away and gets excited by Gaston’s evil plan. Performer is also in the Village Ensemble at the top of the show.
Silly Girls (6)
Female; These are women in the village who are obsessed and infatuated with Gaston. Hysterically depressed when they realize Gaston is going to propose to Belle but don’t let it get in their way of meeting up with him.
Female; Dancing, Non-Singing Role
The Enchantress is the one who placed the spell on the Prince, the castle, and everyone inside the castle for the Prince's cruel ways. Performer will move into Enchanted Object Ensemble.
Male; Non Speaking role.
A pampered prince who is transformed into a hideous beast as punishment for his cold-hearted and selfish ways. Performer will move into Enchanted Object Ensemble.
These Villagers will be assigned specific lines, song, dance as part of the Village Ensemble.
Male and Female; There are characters that live in Belle’s small, provincial town.
They are merchants, with simple lives. Their small‐town mindset leads them to
regard Belle and Maurice as odd.
Enchanted Object Ensemble
Bella Jo Moore
Male and Female; Former servants to the Beast, these characters
are under the effects of the Enchantress’ spell and as such are gradually
transitioning into household objects. They want to become human again and
break the curse, so are determined to find love for the Beast.
Wolf /Jr Villagers Ensemble
These predators are shown to be inhabitants of The Black Forest surrounding the Beast's castle, presumably as a part of the Enchantress's spell. Jr. Villagers will appear as town villagers in specific scenes assigned by the Directors.
