Description:

Step into the enchanted world of Broadway's modern classic, Disney's Beauty and the Beast. Based on the Academy Award-winning animated feature, the stage version includes all of the wonderful songs written by Alan Menken and the late Howard Ashman, along with new songs by Mr. Menken and Tim Rice.

The classic story tells of Belle, a young woman in a provincial town, and the Beast, who is really a young prince trapped under the spell of an enchantress. If the Beast can learn to love and be loved, the curse will end and he will be transformed into his former self. But time is running out. If the Beast does not learn his lesson soon, he and his household will be doomed for all eternity.

GENERAL NOTES:
- Auditions are open to individuals ages 8 and up.
- Ages/ranges in descriptions represent the age for the character, not the age of the actor
- All roles will require strong singing and acting skills, plus dance ability. These roles will also require a great deal of memorization and time commitment for the duration of the production.
- Not all individuals auditioning will be cast in the production.
- All actors cast (regardless of age) will be expected to pay at $50 production fee.
- As a community theatre production, cast members will be required to serve on a pre-show committee to help us bring the show to life.
- Because Beauty and the Beast is a fantastical and universal story, it is not a story that we will tell with particular casting in mind. The theater is an imaginative form, not a literal one. We want our cast to be comprised of a diverse group of actors.
- There is not a limit to how many hours/days of conflicts one can have as a CCT participant. However, it is important to know that conflicts will be taken into consideration when casting and we are not expecting conflicts during tech week/performances unless there are extenuating circumstances.
- Auditions are open to any individual who would like to audition for the show and agree with CCT’s Code of Conduct and Behavior standards. You can find that document HERE.
There is no compensation for any roles and this is a non-Union production.
