Description:

Broadway Version

Ebenezer Scrooge is a prosperous curmudgeon who believes that personal wealth is far more valuable than the happiness and comfort of others. With an infuriated "Bah! Humbug!" Scrooge summates his feelings of Christmas tidings and charitable giving, but he's forced to face his selfish ways when three ghosts on Christmas Eve lead him through his Past, Present and Future. Thanks to their guidance, Scrooge recognizes his faults and greets Christmas morning with a cheerful "Happy Christmas" before spending the day reconnecting and sharing love with those that mean the most to him.

A Christmas Carol is a spectacular adaptation of Charles Dickens' most well-known story, with music by Broadway heavy hitters, Alan Menken (Disney's Beauty and the Beast, Disney's The Little Mermaid) and Lynn Ahrens (Ragtime, Seussical, Once on This Island).

Students enrolled for the Fall Session of classes are eligible to sign up for an audition slot through their family account! Auditions will be on Friday, August 27th where students will bring their prepared material (see below). Saturday, August 28th, all students will be needed for Dance Call from 10am-12:30pm. Callbacks will follow for students who are asked to stay to read and sing for specific characters.

Students will need to prepare:
A one minute cut of a song (this song should NOT be from A Christmas Carol. We suggest something Disney if this is your first time auditioning. Your track needs to be a karaoke track with no words)
A one minute monologue (the monologues from A Christmas Carol that you can use from CYT will be listed HERE at a later time, OR you can select your own monologue if you would like)
