Description

Two Weeks! One Big Adventure!: Disney's Finding Nemo Kids!
Disney’s Finding Nemo KIDS is a 30-minute musical adaptation of the beloved 2003 Pixar movie Finding Nemo, with new music by award-winning songwriting team Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez. Marlin, an anxious and over-protective clownfish, lives in the Great Barrier Reef with his kid Nemo, who longs to explore the world beyond their anemone home. But when Nemo is captured and taken to Sydney, Marlin faces his fears and sets off on an epic adventure across the ocean. With the help of lovable characters such as optimistic Dory, laid-back sea turtle Crush, and the supportive Tank Gang, Marlin and Nemo both overcome challenges on their journey to find each other and themselves.
Featuring memorable songs such as “Just Keep Swimming,” “Fish Are Friends Not Food,” and “Go With the Flow,” Finding Nemo KIDS brings a vibrant underwater world to life on stage in a story full of family, friendship, and adventure.

Counselor:

Madeline Sweat

Madeline has been part of the CYT family for two years and has loved every second of it, portraying roles like Miss Andrew and Mrs. Paroo. She has a huge heart for working with kids and has poured over 1,000 volunteer hours into Sunday morning kids’ services, VBS, and Kids’ Camps. When she’s not at the theater, she’s usually busy planning events and Disney trips while searching for the next perfect pair of ears to add to her collection! She hopes to always keep her love for singing and theater in her life forever, while working toward her goal of owning her own salon someday. Most of all, she is so grateful for all of God’s blessings and opportunities!

Counselor:

Jakob Appleford

Jakob is a recent graduate of Grace Prep Academy. He has been apart of eleven shows in the 4 years he has been at CYT. Some of his most memorable roles include Centipede (James and the Giant Peach), Chum the Shark (Nemo), and most recently Harold Hill in The Music Man. He looks forward to spending his summer rehearsing for CCT's production of Fiddler on the Roof. Jakob will be attending TLU on a full scholarship for Dramatic Media and a Business minor. Jakob also has a well-rounded musical background that includes piano, voice, AP Music Theory and ear training. Jakob's dream role would be Gaston in Beauty and the Beast.

Counselor:

Some of his favorite roles include Judas in Godspell, Melman in Madagascar, and Neleus in Mary Poppins. While Kael hopes to become a veterinarian someday, his love for musical theater means he always wants theater to be part of his life.
