Class Description

It's time to tread the boards with none other than Shakespeare! Building off of our Spring CYT Online class, students will continue to learn techniques to tackle the work of one of the most influential playwrights! This course is designed for the serious actor who is willing to put in the work to gain a strong knowledge of this exciting genre. Scene work may include: Romeo and Juliet, Midsummer Night’s Dream, Measure for Measure and more!

*The CYT Online Spring class is NOT a pre-requisite for this class, but if you took that class in the Spring, we would encourage you to take this class to continue working in person.*

Teacher:

Annelise Leifeste

Annelise is a recent graduate of Texas Lutheran University, where she received a BA in Dramatic Media, with a concentration in acting and directing for theatre. Currently she works as an ESL teacher, and is very involved in her home church, Northpoint, where she serves as the young adults leader and as a member of the worship team. She is thrilled to be a new addition to the CYT family, and already feels at home! If you don't know Annelise, you should know that she loves to talk about Jesus and that her great theatrical love will always be Shakespeare. Annelise has tutored students in Shakespeare and other dramatic literature and has spent considerable time teaching children within church settings and VBS camps, as well as through her job as an ESL instructor. Her acting credits include: I and You (Caroline), The Crucible (Mrs. Putnam), Othello (Emilia), The Fantasticks (Luisa), The Little Mermaid (Ursula).
