Teacher:

Lyndsea Woodall

An alumna of CYT Houston, Lyndsea was inspired by her many years spent with CYT and is currently pursuing a degree in music education at Texas State. While at school, she has performed regularly across Texas with both the Texas State Chorale and VocaLibre. She has also performed in various Texas State musical theater productions and operas, including the title role in Massanet’s Cendrillon (Cinderella). Outside of Texas State, she has won several awards through the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) including being named a finalist in Classical Voice and winning 1st place in Musical Theater. In addition to performing, she has held teaching positions working with both Conspirare Youth Choir and the Hill Country Youth Chorus. Lyndsea is also passionate about music education across the globe, and travels regularly to teach music workshops in countries such as Haiti and Guatemala.

Teacher:

Jane Layoff

Jane is so excited to be teaching at CYT this season! While new to the area, Jane is very familiar with CYT as she grew up as a student in the Chicago program and later went on to various leadership roles after graduating from the program and discovering a passion for teaching and directing youth theatre. In addition to CYT, Jane has worked with with several schools and recreation organizations in the NW Chicago suburbs to develop inclusive theatre programs and curriculum. Jane is thrilled to be a part of CYT once again as she knows first hand the impact that theatre can have in the life of a child.

Teacher:

Raye Zahn

Raye Zahn grew up dancing from a very early age. In college, she was a member of the World Famous Kilgore College Rangerettes where she had many opportunities to perform in places such as the Chicago Thanksgiving Day Parade, the Cotton Bowl Halftime Classic, as well as the Dallas Cowboys Halftime Spectacular with the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders. In 2005, Raye married her high school sweetheart, Matthew. They now have two amazing little boys, Maddix, 7 yrs, and Paxton, 5 yrs, and a sweet little girl Jovie Lucille, 1 yr. Raye was the proud owner of The Element New Braunfels Dance Center for over seven and a half years where she had the privilege of instructing students ranging in age from 2-18. She began working for CYT in 2012 and has choreographed CYT shows including The Little Mermaid, Freckleface Strawberry, and Honk! Raye has not only judged CYT’s “Dancing with the Stars of New Braunfels” for several years, but has also choreographed many numbers for the show. Raye cannot wait to work with students and share with them her love of the performing arts!
