Class Description

Do you love creating characters and scenarios off the top of your head? Do you make off the cuff comments without even thinking about it? Are you wanting to be on a CYT Improv team? Well, this class is for you! In this class, students will learn what it takes to be on a CYT Competitive Improv Team.

Kaitlyn Zoeller

Theatre has always been central to Kaitlyn Zoeller’s life. Even during her studies at Rice University, from which she graduated with a Bachelor’s of Arts in English, she focused specifically on dramaturgical analysis. Before Rice University, Kaitlyn discovered the joys of improv at age twelve through her education with CYT Houston. Kaitlyn performed as an improviser for CYT Houston’s competitive team for two consecutive years at CYT's National Improvathon. After leaving CYT for college, Kaitlyn performed with Rice University’s improv troupe Spontaneous Combustion for four years, during which she performed at various improv houses, including the Upright Citizens’ Brigade’s New York location during the Del Close Marathon. Aside from her collegiate experience, Kaitlyn has worked as an improviser for Station Theatre, as well as for the experimental longform improv troupe Magical Lying Hour, with whom she has performed in various improv festivals nation-wide. Most importantly, Kaitlyn is thrilled to work with the students at CYT San Antonio-New Braunfels and help foster a love for improvisation in all interested students.
